3) You don't know hard work until you've had to work for yourself.
I say this because I have honestly never put this much effort and energy into any other job or internship. When I tell you I did not want, not one penny of my hard earned money to go to waste? Baaaaaby! The inspiration is taken to a whole new level. When you invest in YOURSELF you can't let yourself down.
"Don't work 8 hours for a company then go home and not work on your own goals."
Between working full time, and going to school full time, you will FIND time to go after what you want. Especially when you are self funding your projects. In general some losses have to be taken; nothing is perfect. Yet, you accept some failures, but you keep pushing.
The grind? Does. Not. Stop. When I graduated from college I thought sleepless nights were a thing of the past. Sacrifice? The past. Hustle? The past. While being in business for myself, I am tired, and even feel down sometimes. I question if I'm really excelling or if this is all a dream I am chasing where the ends won't justify the means. Then I remember that this experience has also made me strong. I have learned to take the good with the bad; not to dwell on those losses and to celebrate my wins, however small they may be. After all I'm blessed, and I'm winning!
Check back next Thursday for lesson #4!
